Conservation Specialist

Job description —  Application form

Permanent, full-time, salaried position. Provides technical services related to soil and water conservation, within the counties of King George, Spotsylvania, Stafford, and the City of Fredericksburg under the supervision of the District Manager. A college degree in natural resources/conservation field is desirable. Will consider related experience in lieu of degree. Virginia Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR) Conservation Planner certification must be completed within 18 months of hire. Applicant must have a valid Virginia driver’s license and be willing to provide own transportation on the job with mileage reimbursement. Responsible for agricultural conservation planning using current best management practices of DCR and the USDA’s Natural Resources Conservation Service. Responsible for implementing the Virginia Agricultural Cost-Share Program and Tax Credit Programs in all aspects (administrative, financial, and technical). Generous benefits package. Salary range: $35,000-$55,000
